The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has expressed confidence that the party will secure a decisive victory in the upcoming Edo governorship election scheduled for September 21.
Ganduje made this assertion on Thursday while receiving a delegation from the Kano State Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), led by its Chairman, Aminu Garko.
He emphasized that the APC has put in place a robust political strategy aimed at ensuring a landslide win for its candidate.
“I believe our campaign is in high spirits, we are getting ready for that election, and we believe we will be able to recover our state,” Ganduje stated.
He further explained that the party lost Edo to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) due to internal conflicts but is now poised to reclaim it.
Turning his attention to Ondo State, Ganduje noted that the APC is solidifying its hold there as well, following the resolution of challenges that arose after the passing of the former governor.
“We conducted primaries and succeeded in getting the candidate that the people want,” he said, adding that the party is gearing up for the November election in the state.
Ganduje also highlighted the party’s broader electoral ambitions, particularly in the South-East, where the APC currently governs two states.
“We want to start with Anambra,” he said, indicating plans to expand the party’s influence in the region.
“If we get what we want, we capture all the states,” he concluded.
