Air Peace has strongly denied a social media report claiming that one of its aircraft was involved in a plane crash in the Western Sahara region, describing the allegation as false and malicious.
In a statement issued on Friday in Lagos by the airline’s Head of Corporate Communications, Dr. Ejike Ndiulo, Air Peace refuted the claims, labeling them as a deliberate attempt to tarnish its impeccable safety record.
The circulating report alleged that the purported crash resulted in fatalities, including the death of a prominent individual. However, the airline clarified that the information is baseless and unfounded.
Air Peace further pointed out that the images being shared alongside the false reports were artificially generated and do not represent any real event or incident involving the airline.
The statement also highlighted that the individual behind the post has a history of spreading alarming and fabricated stories about tragic incidents that never occurred.
Urging the public to disregard the misinformation, the airline emphasized the importance of relying on official communication channels for accurate updates on its operations.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the misleading report originated from an X (formerly Twitter) user on December 26, who alleged that a crash involving Air Peace had claimed the lives of 50 people.
Air Peace reiterated its commitment to maintaining its high safety standards and assured the public of its continued adherence to global aviation safety protocols.
