Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has resumed light training with Atalanta following an injury scare that sidelined him during international duty.
The 27-year-old winger, who featured in Nigeria’s opening 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Benin, had to withdraw from the squad on Saturday due to the injury, missing the subsequent 2-1 defeat to Rwanda in Uyo.
Lookman’s return comes as a significant boost for Atalanta, with their Serie A fixture against Parma scheduled for this weekend. Reports from Calcio News24 indicate that the former Everton star participated in light training on Wednesday, raising hopes that he could feature in the game.
The Nigerian international has been a standout performer for Atalanta this season, consistently delivering high-quality displays that have made him one of Serie A’s most reliable players.
In addition to his on-field contributions, Lookman has been shortlisted for a prestigious Italian football award celebrating the league’s best performers. He will compete against notable stars such as Marcus Thuram, Lautaro Martinez, and Rafael Leão for the honor, marking another milestone in his remarkable 2024 season.
