Nigerian actress and comedian Wofai Fada has announced the birth of her first child, a baby girl named Ifedayo Konaghai Cole, with her husband Taiwo Cole.
Fada shared the joyous news on Instagram on Saturday evening, posting heartwarming photos of her family. In one image, she and her husband wore matching floral-print robes, while their daughter sported an adorable headband. Another photo captured Taiwo gently holding the baby’s tiny feet.
Expressing her gratitude, Fada wrote: “We are forever grateful to God for this precious gift ❤️. Our princess is here. My joy is complete ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.”
The couple’s new chapter as parents follows weeks after their legal wedding ceremony, a union that has been met with public controversy.
In May, videos of their traditional wedding in Calabar, Cross River, surfaced online. Shortly after, Taiwo’s family issued a public statement distancing themselves from the marriage.
“This serves to notify all acquaintances, family, and friends that the Cole family of Victoria Island Lagos are not aware of any marriage ceremony of our son, Taiwo Olakitan Cole, neither did we grant permission nor support in this regard,” the statement read.
Despite the familial discord, Wofai and Taiwo have continued to share glimpses of their love story, including moments from their wedding ceremonies, on social media.
Wofai Fada rose to fame through her comedic skits on Instagram and has since established herself in the Nigerian entertainment industry. She has starred in several notable films, including Oloture, The Wedding Party 2, Blood Sisters, and New Money.
The birth of their daughter marks a significant milestone for the couple, and fans and well-wishers have flooded social media with congratulatory messages.
