Latin music icon Bad Bunny has joined forces with football legend Lionel Messi for a new Adidas collaboration that is resonating in both the music and sports worlds.
The collection, known as the Bad Bunny & Messi Collection, includes the classic Adidas Gazelle sneaker—originally released in 1966—and the F50 cleat, a design closely tied to Messi’s legacy on the field.
Messi shared his excitement about the partnership, noting his long-standing admiration for Bad Bunny’s music. “We really like his music. We have been following him for a long time, and there is always some song of his on the playlists we listen to. It’s part of the mix that always plays,” Messi told ESPN. He emphasized the shared bond with their Latin American fans, which has become even more meaningful since his move to Miami. “For me, and I suppose also for Bad Bunny, the Latin community has enormous importance in our lives. A large part of our fans are Latino, and there is a bond of language, culture, and society that is very special,” he added.
Bad Bunny, the world’s most streamed Latin artist and fresh off multiple Billboard Latin Music Awards, expressed that this collaboration with Messi is a personal milestone. “I have always been a fan of Messi, so collaborating with him is a dream come true,” he told ESPN. “Obviously, I admire his talent and excellence in the game, but I’ve also seen him as an example of how to stay humble, let your work speak for itself, and stay focused.”
Adidas design director Rafael Mayorga collaborated with the duo, blending the vintage Adidas Gazelle with modern touches, including Messi’s signature golden bottom on the cleat. Details like the personalized “Benito” and “Leo” inscriptions make this collection particularly special, adding a personal layer to the collaboration between two icons in their respective fields.
