President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria has reaffirmed Africa’s resolve to resist external forces aiming to disrupt the continent’s unity.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama in Accra on Tuesday, Tinubu emphasized the strength and resilience of African nations in protecting their collective future.

The event marked a significant moment for Ghana and the continent as a whole, with Tinubu lauding the peaceful democratic transition as a testament to Africa’s political maturity.

The Nigerian president described the inauguration as a proud milestone, underscoring its importance in disproving outdated narratives about Africa’s democratic capabilities.

Tinubu, attending as a special guest of honour, highlighted the historical bonds between Ghana and Nigeria.

He called for continued solidarity and cooperation among African nations while urging critics to acknowledge Africa’s progress rather than perpetuating stereotypes of failure.

Reflecting on the legacies of iconic African leaders such as Ghana’s Kwame Nkrumah and Nigeria’s founding fathers, Tinubu urged today’s leaders to draw inspiration from their vision of unity and progress.

He emphasized the need for regional integration to tackle pressing challenges, including poverty, youth unemployment, and insecurity.

During his remarks, Tinubu praised President Mahama’s leadership qualities, expressing confidence in his ability to steer Ghana toward greater prosperity.

He assured Mahama of Nigeria’s unwavering support, describing the bond between the two nations as unbreakable.

The Nigerian leader concluded with a call for shared efforts to build a future of hope, opportunity, and prosperity across the continent, stressing that Africa must chart its course at its own pace.

The inauguration served as a powerful reminder of Africa’s potential to forge a path of unity and resilience amid global challenges, with Tinubu’s speech reinforcing the collective resolve to protect the continent’s progress and promise.
