Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, pledged to focus on effective implementation of the state’s historic 2025 budget and improving revenue generation during the remaining two years of his tenure.

Governor Sule made this known during a courtesy visit by former commissioners at the Government House on Monday.

He described the next two years as a critical period for his administration to demonstrate its capacity and deliver impactful governance.

“We have roughly two good years to operate.

I want to make sure that these two years are among the most productive we’ve had in this administration,” the governor said.

To reinforce this commitment, he disclosed that he has directed contractors handling the multi-billion-naira state secretariat project to complete both the first and second phases without delay.

The governor also noted that his recent dissolution of the executive council was a strategic move to revitalize the administration for maximum efficiency, especially given the unprecedented N384 billion budget for 2025, the largest in Nasarawa State’s history.

“When I assumed office, the state’s budget was around N90 billion on average.

Now, we have a budget that could span four years.

This is a huge milestone for Nasarawa State, and we must work diligently to generate the revenue needed for its implementation,” Sule explained.

The governor expressed optimism about the state’s improving revenue outlook and commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic initiatives, which he said are creating a favorable environment for economic growth.

“We are starting to receive commendations from outside the state.

While prophets may not be honored in their homes, we have two years to set records and showcase our performance.

I don’t want to leave quietly.

I want to leave with a bang and a legacy that the next administration can build upon,” he declared.

Earlier, Dr. John Mamman, the immediate past Commissioner of Education and leader of the visiting delegation, praised Governor Sule for giving them the opportunity to serve and contribute to the development of the state.

The governor’s emphasis on boosting revenue and ensuring the effective execution of the 2025 budget underscores his administration’s determination to leave a lasting impact on Nasarawa State.
