Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has reaffirmed his commitment to fostering an inclusive, transparent, and accountable administration, prioritizing the welfare and interests of the people.

Speaking at the 2025 first-working-day prayer meeting in Akure, the state capital, Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude for the state’s achievements in 2024 despite significant challenges.

“Despite the challenges, God restored peace and tranquillity in our state, and for that, we are deeply grateful,” he said.

Highlighting the administration’s efforts, the governor noted:

Good Governance: Significant advancements in all sectors of the state economy.

Welfare and Salaries: Timely salary payments, pension disbursements, and implementation of the N73,000 minimum wage.

Infrastructure: Ongoing work on urban and rural road projects.

Education: Provision of bursaries and scholarships for indigenous students.

Judiciary: Appointment of new judges to enhance access to justice.

Security: Strengthened security measures, with the state ranked among the safest in Nigeria, supported by the Amotekun Corps.

As the state transitions into a new mandate period starting February 24, 2025, Aiyedatiwa unveiled a new policy blueprint titled ‘OUR EASE’. The blueprint focuses on security, urban and rural development, technological innovation, efficient healthcare, sustainable agriculture, and education.

“This blueprint will guide our efforts to accelerate the development of Ondo State. We are resolute in our commitment to making 2025 a year of economic recovery and growth,” Aiyedatiwa assured.

The governor urged public servants and political office holders to remain loyal and committed to building a vibrant Ondo State.

“Our people deserve the very best, and we must be committed to delivering responsible and responsive governance. We will run an all-inclusive, open, and accountable administration in the best interest of our people,” he stated.

He also announced plans for a retreat for senior government officials and public servants to align their efforts with the administration’s vision.

In his welcome address, Head of Service Bayo Philips encouraged civil servants to maintain gratitude and faith, emphasizing the importance of dedication and loyalty.

“The civil service is fortunate to have a governor deeply committed to the welfare of its workers,” Philips said. He highlighted key achievements, including salary increases, pension payments, recruitment in critical sectors, and promotions.

In a sermon titled “Now That We Are Here, What Should We Do?”, Senior Elder Michael Ogunbayode from Seasons of Life Ministry, Lagos, urged attendees to seek divine direction for the year ahead.

“Those who recognize the right thing to do at the right time position themselves for divine favor,” Ogunbayode emphasized.

The prayer meeting served as a platform for reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment to the development of Ondo State.
