Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, announced on Friday that the state’s security situation has greatly improved in 2024, with no major breaches reported.

Mutfwang made the remarks after meeting with President Bola Tinubu in Lagos, stating, “I came to see the President, who has shown deep concern about the security situation in Plateau.

You’ll remember that in 2023, Plateau was in mourning.

But with the President’s support, we’ve been able to celebrate Christmas with relative peace as we approach the New Year.”

The governor attributed the improvements to the efforts of security forces, saying, “The security forces are on the ground and doing their best.

We have also invested heavily in technology and mobilized our communities.”

While acknowledging that some challenges persist, with a few incidents still occurring, Mutfwang emphasized that the overall security situation is steadily improving.

“With the support of Mr. President, I assure you that we will not relent in our efforts,” he said.

He also reassured the public that his administration would continue to make it difficult for criminal activities to thrive in the state.

“Our goal is to reassure our people and build confidence, especially for those considering investments in Plateau,” he said.

“The climate is right, the environment is conducive, and I’m confident that 2025 will be an even better year,” he concluded.
