A socio-political organization, Yoruba Council Worldwide, has commended President Bola Tinubu’s administration for appointing a significant number of youths into critical sectors of governance, a move it described as unprecedented in Nigeria’s history.
In a statement released on Saturday, the council highlighted the inclusion of young individuals as ministers, advisers, and heads of government agencies under the current administration.
The group asserted that this level of youth involvement dispels claims that the Tinubu administration has neglected young people.
According to the council’s National Publicity Secretary, Isaac Ajibola, this achievement demonstrates a deliberate effort to empower youths and incorporate their contributions into nation-building.
The council expressed its full support for Tinubu’s government, emphasizing that these appointments reflect a commitment to addressing the aspirations of younger generations.
The group also lauded the administration’s plans to convene a National Youth Conference in February 2025.
This initiative, it stated, aims to foster discussions on critical national issues, including constitutional reforms, education, agriculture, and economic development.
Additionally, the council expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Minister for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, particularly his dedication to the success of the upcoming conference.
It described the initiative as a positive step towards addressing youth-related challenges and enhancing national progress.
The Yoruba Council Worldwide reaffirmed its support for the Tinubu-led administration and urged Nigerians to disregard unfounded criticisms targeting the government’s youth-focused initiatives.
