The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), reaffirmed that the Port Harcourt Refinery is fully operational, dismissing recent media reports claiming otherwise.
In a statement issued on Saturday by the NNPCL’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Mr. Olufemi Soneye, the company responded to the allegations, stating, “The attention of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has been drawn to reports from some media outlets suggesting that the Old Port Harcourt Refinery, which was re-streamed two months ago, has been shut down.”
The statement further clarified, “We wish to categorically state that these reports are entirely false.
The refinery is currently fully operational, as confirmed just a few days ago by former Group Managing Directors of NNPC.
Preparations for the day’s loading operations are already underway.”
NNPCL urged the public to disregard such claims, labeling them as “the figments of those who seek to create artificial scarcity and exploit Nigerians.”
