Monaco forward Folarin Balogun will be out of action for three months due to a shoulder injury.
The 23-year-old American international is set to undergo surgery in the coming days, as confirmed by Monaco coach Adi Huetter.
The injury, a dislocated glenohumeral joint in his left shoulder, was initially sustained in early October.
While Balogun briefly returned to play two matches after the incident, he has since been sidelined, missing Monaco’s recent fixtures against Toulouse and Arsenal.
Balogun has had a promising start to his Monaco career, netting three goals in 10 appearances across all competitions this season.
A product of Arsenal’s academy, the striker moved to the French side in August 2023 following a successful loan spell at Reims, where he made a significant impact in Ligue 1.
In his Ligue 1 career so far, Balogun has recorded an impressive tally of 31 goals and nine assists across 73 matches for Monaco and Reims combined.
His absence will undoubtedly be a setback for Monaco as they navigate the coming months.
This development marks a challenging period for the young forward, who has been pivotal in Monaco’s attacking lineup.
The club will now look to adjust its strategies in his absence as Balogun focuses on recovery.
