Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has admitted that the team is still adjusting to manager Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 system, emphasizing the need for more time and practice to fully master the tactical approach.
Hojlund, who joined United from Atalanta, delivered an impressive performance in the Europa League, scoring twice to inspire a comeback victory against Viktoria Plzen. Despite the win, the Danish forward acknowledged the ongoing challenges of adapting to the new system.
“We still need more time. It’s still very early days,” Hojlund told TNT Sports. “It’s about getting the routines together, and I think it’s starting to sink in, but it obviously still requires a lot of practice and time. We don’t have many training sessions, so we’re learning and adapting during matches.”
Reflecting on the match conditions, Hojlund added, “It was a bit difficult. Very cold today, with challenging circumstances, and the pitch was boggy. We had to deal with it, but we managed to solve it in the second half.”
United now turn their attention to a crucial Premier League clash against Manchester City on Sunday, a test that could further gauge the team’s progress under Amorim’s system.
