A tragic accident involving a Borno State University bus and a trailer claimed the lives of two students on Wednesday, leaving three others critically injured and fifteen more receiving medical care.
The accident occurred while the university bus, carrying 30 students, was on its route. A trailer collided with the vehicle, instantly killing two students and severely injuring three. Fortunately, ten students escaped unhurt.
In a statement, the university’s spokesman, Umar Garkuwa, confirmed that the injured students were immediately rushed to the Umaru Shehu Hospital and the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH), where they are currently receiving treatment.
“The Vice Chancellor and the Dean of Student Affairs have been visiting the hospitals to ensure a prompt response and proper care for the injured students,” Garkuwa stated.
This tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the university community, as efforts are underway to support the victims and their families during this difficult time.
