The Kaduna State Government is moving towards complete digitalization of its civil service operations as part of a broader automation agenda, the Commissioner for Business Innovation and Technology, Mrs. Patience Fakai, has announced.

Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, Mrs. Fakai highlighted the significant progress made under the administration of Governor Uba Sani in integrating Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into government processes.

She noted that over 70% of government services in the state are now automated, a development aimed at improving efficiency and accessibility.

The commissioner also revealed that Kaduna State was recently recognized at the 12th National Council on Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy in Makurdi, where it received an award as the second runner-up in ICT Human Capital Development.

This recognition underscores the state’s strides in fostering ICT literacy, promoting e-governance, and supporting tech entrepreneurship.

Mrs. Fakai emphasized the state’s adoption of e-governance, which integrates digital solutions for both state and local government operations.

This initiative has streamlined service delivery and enhanced public access to government services.

The state’s official website, described as up-to-date and functional, serves as a central hub for public information.

In addition, all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in Kaduna State now operate standardized websites capable of facilitating online services and transactions.

Highlighting the infrastructure supporting these advancements, the commissioner mentioned a robust intranet system that enhances internal communication and collaboration.

Platforms such as the Kaduna Geographic Information System (KADGIS) and other e-government applications are pivotal to this digital transformation.

The Kaduna State Government’s commitment to digital innovation reflects its broader vision to leverage technology for sustainable development and efficient governance.
