The Ardova Handball Premier League is set to crown its champions on Sunday, with Tojemarine Academy of Lagos and Safety Babes of Abuja emerging as victors in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively, with a game to spare.

In the men’s category, Tojemarine Academy demonstrated dominance throughout the season, securing 20 wins from 21 matches to amass 61 points.

Their closest rivals, Rima Strikers, have 58 points from 18 wins, one draw, and two losses. The two teams will face off in the final game of the season, though Tojemarine’s lead is unassailable.

In the women’s division, Safety Babes extended their unbeaten streak, winning all 17 of their matches so far.

With this performance, they are poised to claim their fourth consecutive league title, solidifying their status as a formidable force in Nigerian handball.

Yesterday’s matches showcased thrilling action across both categories. In the women’s league, Seasider Babes secured a convincing 33-23 victory over Bendel Dynamos, while Delta Queens outclassed Plateau Peacocks 40-30. Rivers Queens edged out COAS Babes in a closely contested 27-26 encounter.

In the men’s games, Tojemarine Academy triumphed over Benue Buffaloes with a 28-24 win, while Rima Strikers defeated Sunshine Kings in a high-scoring 40-33 match.

Today’s fixtures promise more excitement as Rima Queens take on Imo Grasshoppers, Lagos Seasiders clash with Adamawa Warriors, and Correction Boys face Niger United in pivotal games.

The league concludes tomorrow with champions Tojemarine Academy and Safety Babes receiving their well-deserved accolades.
