Senior management officials of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), on Wednesday, conducted a tour of the recently revived Port Harcourt Refinery, accompanied by selected journalists and other stakeholders.
Last Tuesday, NNPCL announced that the 60,000-barrel-per-day refinery, which had been inactive for years, has resumed crude refining following extensive rehabilitation work.
Channels Television correspondent, Olu Philips, who was part of the touring team, reported observing a gas flare, a clear indication of ongoing crude processing operations.
Philips also noted that the refinery’s plants were still in operation, with crude processing underway.
The rehabilitation team from TECNIMONT, which has been overseeing the refinery’s restoration for the past two years, remains on-site to ensure the refinery operates smoothly.
