The Nigeria Police Force has alerted residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to a crisis response simulation exercise scheduled to take place near the Idu Train Station on Thursday, November 28, 2024.

According to a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the drill will occur between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. and is part of the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts to enhance the readiness of security forces in addressing potential threats across the country.

“In furtherance of efforts in combating all forms of crimes and criminality in Nigeria, the Federal Government has initiated a joint operation and training exercise to prepare security forces to respond appropriately and adequately to security threats,” the statement read.

The exercise is being conducted in collaboration with the Office of the National Security Adviser and will involve controlled explosive sounds as part of the simulation.

Residents have been advised not to panic during the operation, as the activity is designed to test and improve emergency response capabilities in a safe and controlled environment. The police reassured the public that the drill poses no risk to lives or property.

The authorities encouraged residents to remain calm and cooperative throughout the duration of the exercise, emphasizing its importance in strengthening national security and crisis preparedness.
