The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed nine establishments in a determined effort to curb noise pollution and enforce compliance with environmental regulations across the state.

The affected establishments, located in Mushin, Amuwo Odofin, and Okota Isolo, include businesses and religious organizations that were found to have violated LASEPA’s environmental standards despite prior warnings.

Among those shut down were Daily Bakery, the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Gak Universal Allied Limited, Ideal Standard, Franjane Royal Suites, Golden Haven Resort & Suites, Festival Hotel Conference Center & SPA, FS Service Centre, and Moulin Rouge Ventures at Olivia Mall.

Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, LASEPA’s General Manager, reiterated the agency’s zero-tolerance stance on activities detrimental to the environment and public health.

“Environmental protection is a shared responsibility. As a government agency, we are committed to enforcing compliance with environmental laws to protect public health and community harmony. Noise pollution and other violations have severe impacts on quality of life, and we will not hesitate to act decisively against offenders,” Dr. Ajayi said.

He further called on businesses and individuals to embrace sustainable practices and comply with environmental standards. Dr. Ajayi also urged Lagos residents to play their part by reporting violations through LASEPA’s official channels.

Residents have lauded the agency’s actions, viewing them as a necessary step toward addressing the challenges of noise pollution and environmental degradation in the bustling metropolis. This operation underscores LASEPA’s commitment to creating a healthier, more sustainable Lagos for all.
