Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the price of its Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from N990 per litre to N970 per litre, a move aimed at benefiting Nigerian consumers.
The PUNCH reports that this new price is what marketers will pay for the product at the refinery. In a statement issued on Sunday, Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of the Dangote Group, explained that the price cut was a gesture of appreciation towards Nigerians as the year draws to a close.
“As the year comes to an end, this is our way of appreciating the good people of Nigeria for their unwavering support in making the refinery a reality,” Chiejina said. “Additionally, we want to thank the government for their support, as this reduction complements ongoing measures to foster domestic enterprise for our collective well-being.”
Chiejina also emphasized that the refinery remains committed to maintaining the highest quality standards for its petroleum products. He assured Nigerians that the products would be environmentally friendly and sustainable.
“We are determined to keep ramping up production to meet and exceed domestic fuel consumption, thus dispelling any concerns over a potential supply shortfall,” he added.
