The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted a major shipment of cocaine concealed within everyday food items and destined for the United Kingdom.

Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, revealed the operation’s success on Sunday through his X account, sharing a video of the seized contraband. The cocaine, valued at several million naira, was ingeniously hidden in granulated pepper, melon seeds, yam flour, and other common items.

Babafemi expressed his astonishment at the ingenuity of drug traffickers, writing, “The unimaginable places #ndlea_nigeria officers find illicit drugs these days will make you cringe and be more careful when dealing with humans. In this video is cocaine worth millions, concealed in granulated pepper, melon seeds, yam flour, and other items, bound for the UK.”

The NDLEA’s continued vigilance underscores its commitment to combating drug trafficking, as traffickers resort to increasingly sophisticated methods to evade detection.
