Chelsea could emerge as the sole contender in the transfer race for Napoli’s star striker, Victor Osimhen.
The Nigerian international has been a target for several top clubs this summer, including Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, and Bayern Munich.
However, with Harry Kane now at Bayern and Arsenal not pursuing a major signing, the competition narrows down to PSG and Chelsea.
Napoli remains firm that Osimhen will not stay for the upcoming season. Sporting director Giovanni Manna reinforced this stance, stating, “He asked to leave.
We are calm because we have players who can replace him effectively.
However, we aim to maintain the integrity of the group. We will see what happens in the coming days.”
Although Chelsea has explored loan options, Osimhen is not inclined toward a temporary move, making PSG the likely destination.
PSG’s financial capacity is considerable, but they must first facilitate the departure of one of their forwards, either Randal Kolo Muani or Goncalo Ramos, to make room for Osimhen.
Both players featured in PSG’s recent 4-1 victory over Le Havre, with Ramos providing an assist and Kolo Muani scoring a late penalty.
Despite the success, head coach Luis Enrique is concerned about Ramos’s injury, which could affect PSG’s transfer strategy.
