The Kwara State Government has issued a stern reminder to public sector workers to complete their registration with the Kwara State Residents’ Registration Agency (KWSRRA) as a condition for receiving their November salary and bonuses.
The directive was made public in a statement on Monday by Dr. Hauwa Nuru, the Commissioner for Finance, and signed by Babatunde Abdulrasheed, the ministry’s Press Secretary. The government emphasized that workers who fail to obtain a valid resident registration number will be ineligible for salary payments and bonuses starting from November.
The registration process, which began in July, is part of the state’s ongoing efforts to streamline its data collection systems. Nuru explained that KWSRRA is tasked with compiling information on all residents of the state, assigning unique identities to individuals to support better planning, resource management, public safety, and service delivery.
“In line with the administration’s commitment to accountability and transparency in resource management, a directive has been issued mandating all state employees, including those across the 16 local government areas, to complete their registration,” Nuru stated.
She further emphasized the importance of the KWSRRA registration in creating a comprehensive and accurate database that would improve service delivery and payroll management.
“The integrity of our data affects all our financial and administrative systems. A complete database helps us make informed decisions, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure that every eligible worker is compensated fairly and accurately,” Nuru said.
The Commissioner urged any state employee who has not yet registered to promptly visit their nearest KWSRRA center to complete the process, reinforcing that the registration is crucial for the efficient management of the state’s workforce and services.
“By following this directive, the Kwara State Government is working to establish a more efficient and equitable system for both its workforce and residents,” she concluded.
