A Kano State High Court has set November 20, 2024, as the date for hearing pending applications in the high-profile case involving Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), his wife Hafsat Umar, and seven other defendants. The Kano State Government has filed an eight-count charge against Ganduje and his co-defendants, accusing them of bribery, mismanagement, and the misappropriation of public funds amounting to billions of naira.

The case also involves Abubakar Bawuro, Umar Abdullahi Umar, Jibrilla Muhammad, Lamash Properties Limited, Safari Textiles Limited, and Lasage General Enterprises Limited.

At the latest court session, the state’s counsel, Mr. Adeola Adedipe (SAN), stated they were unprepared to proceed, despite having filed a counter affidavit and securing a witness from Lagos. Counsel representing Ganduje and his co-defendants, Mr. Offiong Offiong (SAN), noted that they had not received the preliminary objection or the counter affidavit, requesting an adjournment.

Justice Amina Adamu-Aliyu underscored the necessity of proper service of court documents and adjourned the case to November 20 to hear all pending applications. The case has drawn significant attention due to the high-profile nature of the allegations and the individuals involved.
