The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rescheduled its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting from October 24 to November 28, 2024. This decision followed a strategic consultative session held at the Bauchi State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, where key party leaders gathered to discuss pressing matters.
Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, who chairs the PDP Governors Forum, highlighted the significance of this postponement in strengthening party unity before the crucial Ondo gubernatorial election on November 16, 2024. The delay aims to allow members to focus on ensuring a coordinated campaign in Ondo while working on resolving internal conflicts.
The PDP is currently addressing various internal challenges, and the upcoming NEC meeting will focus on urgent party matters, setting priorities for the Ondo elections, and preparing for the 2027 national elections. Party leaders are urging members to avoid actions that could jeopardize unity as the PDP looks to solidify its position as Nigeria’s leading opposition party.
