The Commissioner of Police for Imo State, CP Aboki Danjuma, has ordered the arrest of an officer and his team involved in extorting money from commercial bus drivers.

This directive follows the circulation of a 15-second video showing a policeman collecting money from drivers on the road.

In a statement posted on X.com, the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Henry Okoye, emphasized the commitment to addressing this misconduct.

He assured the public that he would “personally identify these officers and share their details here to show that the command has zero tolerance for extortion.”

Okoye further revealed that the CP has instructed the command’s Complaint Response Unit and Provost Department to ensure that the officers face maximum punishment.

“Disciplinary actions will be taken against them to serve as a warning to others,” he stated.
