The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano State has elected a new leadership team, with Yusuf Ado Kibiya emerging as the party’s state chairman.
The election process, which commenced on Saturday evening, concluded on Sunday, with results announced by Halilu Abubakar Mazagani, chairman of the election committee from the party’s national headquarters.
Kibiya secured a decisive victory, amassing 3,964 votes to defeat his opponent, Nura Nuhu, who garnered 244 votes.
Following the announcement, Barrister Abdul Fatah Muhammad administered the oath of office to the 39 newly elected state party officials, including Kibiya.
The newly constituted leadership is tasked with steering the PDP’s activities in Kano as the party aims to strengthen its position and prepare for future political engagements.
In his acceptance speech, Kibiya expressed gratitude to party members for their trust, pledging to lead with transparency and inclusiveness.
He emphasized his commitment to revitalizing the PDP in Kano State, working to bolster the party’s influence in the state’s political landscape.
