Music icon D’banj is building excitement for his forthcoming album, *The Entertainer D’Sequel*, slated for release on Friday, August 16. The anticipation is fueled by a newly released trailer featuring an impressive all-star cast, including Mavin Records’ Don Jazzy, Nollywood actor Gideon Okeke, media personality Jimi Akinsola, and D’banj himself.
The trailer, styled like an espionage film, includes a dramatic interrogation scene. A standout moment occurs when D’banj delivers a powerful line: “Just because the soldier rests his gun doesn’t mean he’s no longer a shooter. People keep asking me if I’m back, if I’m back. How can I be back when I never left? I am the entertainer.”
Earlier this year, D’banj celebrated his 20th anniversary in the music industry with the release of his single “04” in May. He continued the momentum with “Koko” in June, a modern rendition of his 2005 hit “Tongolo,” and “Worthy,” a collaboration with Senegalese legend Youssou N’Dour and Nigerian-American “The Voice” contestant Chechi Sarai.
