Troops of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have arrested three suspected bandits and a logistic supplier linked to terrorist groups operating within and outside Taraba State.
Following credible intelligence, a special operation was launched on October 7, 2024, in the Andemin area of Karim Lamido Local Government. The operation led to the arrest of suspected bandits in Jeb-Jeb, a border community between Taraba and Plateau States.
The bandits, identified as Adamu Abubakar, Mohammed Bello, and Musa Adamu, were allegedly responsible for armed robberies, kidnappings, and violent assaults across communities in the area. Their arrests are part of ongoing efforts by the 6 Brigade to address rising criminal activities across state borders.
In a separate operation, Musa Inusa, a key logistics supplier for a notorious terrorist group in Taraba, was apprehended in Bunka village, Lau Local Government Area. Inusa’s arrest is expected to disrupt the supply chain that supports terrorist operations in the region. Items recovered from him include N2,460, a knife, and wraps of suspected illicit drugs.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had been involved in criminal activities for several years. The army is continuing its investigations and is determined to track down other members of the syndicate.
The 6 Brigade reassured the public of its commitment to fighting banditry and terrorism, urging citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the authorities.
