Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is set to return to football after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) significantly reduced his four-year doping ban.
Initially suspended in 2023 due to elevated testosterone levels found in a drug test, Pogba’s ban has now been slashed to 18 months.
Pogba, who has consistently denied any wrongdoing, appealed the decision at CAS, which has now ruled in his favor. As a result, he will be able to resume full training with Juventus in January 2025, with eligibility to play matches starting in March. The initial fine imposed on the French star has also been revoked.
The World Cup-winning midfielder remains under contract with Juventus until 2026, having signed a four-year deal after his departure from Manchester United in 2022. With his ban reduced, Pogba is expected to rejoin Juventus’ squad for the latter part of the season or explore transfer options.
Pogba’s return is a significant boost for both the player and Juventus, as they look to make the most of his availability in the coming months.
