Operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) apprehended 24 suspected internet fraudsters on Monday at various locations across Benin City, Edo State.
The arrests were made following credible intelligence linking the individuals to computer-related fraud activities. During the operation, officials recovered 11 luxury cars, laptops, and mobile phones from the suspects. Additionally, ₦160,000 was seized from one of the individuals.
The EFCC disclosed that the suspects have provided “useful statements” and will face charges in court once the ongoing investigations are concluded.
