TikTok has announced the launch of its newly redesigned “Subscription” feature, which will allow content creators in select regions to monetize their content more effectively.
The revamped tool is now available in countries including Brazil, the U.S., the U.K., Germany, Spain, France, Japan, South Korea, and Indonesia.
Previously known as “LIVE Subscription,” the feature has been expanded to allow creators to offer exclusive content beyond live-streaming.
This move positions TikTok in competition with platforms such as Patreon, YouTube channel memberships, and Instagram Subscriptions, all of which provide creators with ways to engage fans while earning revenue.
The new Subscription model offers creators the opportunity to provide exclusive access to videos, live streams, and other unique content.
Paying subscribers can choose between three different tiers, each offering distinct perks for a monthly fee.
For subscribers, these perks include special badges, stickers for use during live sessions, and the opportunity to communicate with creators through a dedicated area called Sub Space.
This space facilitates more direct interactions between creators and their most loyal fans.
TikTok also allows creators to further personalize these offerings, enabling them to design custom perks such as shout-outs, behind-the-scenes content, performance requests, and even gaming collaborations.
These tailored options are intended to strengthen the connection between creators and their communities.
To qualify for TikTok’s Subscription feature, creators must meet certain criteria. These include being at least 18 years old, having at least 10,000 followers, and garnering a minimum of 100,000 video views in the previous month.
Additionally, their account must be in good standing with the platform. This update signals TikTok’s continued efforts to enhance creator monetization and stay competitive in the ever-growing creator economy.
