The United Arab Emirates has dispatched an aircraft loaded with 50 tonnes of food supplies to the Federal Republic of Nigeria as part of its ongoing humanitarian efforts to assist nations in need.

This initiative aims to alleviate the suffering of communities affected by the recent floods that have struck various regions in Nigeria.

Nigeria has been hit by severe flooding in recent weeks, triggered by heavy rainfall.

This natural disaster has caused significant damage to infrastructure and has displaced thousands of people.

The floods have affected multiple states, including key agricultural areas, leading to a shortage of food resources and an urgent need for humanitarian assistance.

Salem Al Shamsi, the UAE Ambassador to Nigeria, reiterated the UAE’s commitment to supporting countries facing humanitarian crises.

He stated, “The aid dispatched reflects the UAE’s commitment to reinforce humanitarian cooperation with the international community and support nations during crises and disasters.

The initiative serves to mitigate the suffering of people affected by the floods in Nigeria, while providing them with the necessary support to overcome this challenging period.”

The UAE continues to demonstrate its dedication to providing humanitarian and relief aid to countries impacted by natural disasters, underscoring its commitment to the values of global solidarity and support for those in need.
