Opposition Will Not Intimidate Me, Says Tinubu, Vows Commitment to Nigeria’s ChallengesPresident Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared that he will not be intimidated by opposition voices, insisting that he remains committed to confronting Nigeria’s pressing challenges. The President made the remarks on Thursday during a meeting with leaders and coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors at the State House in Abuja, a group led by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma.

Dismissing critics, Tinubu described members of the opposition as “noise-makers” who lack respect for the rule of law.“They want to scare me off? It is a lie. I have been through this path before,” he said. Reaffirming his resolve, the President added: “One thing that you need from me is a promise: I won’t run away from the affairs of the nation. With you, the deal is done.”

Reflecting on his political journey, Tinubu noted that the experiences leading to his emergence as president had prepared him for the demands of leadership.“During the primary that brought me here, it was tough. During the general election that brought me here, it was tough,” he said.

He urged members of the ruling party to remain united, stressing the need to uphold democratic principles, including respect for the judiciary and the rule of law. The President also emphasised national unity and a shared vision for progress, stating that the administration’s “Renewed Hope” agenda is focused on lifting citizens out of poverty and ensuring sustainable development.

Tinubu further took a swipe at former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, questioning the outcomes of past privatisation efforts carried out under his leadership, particularly in the steel sector. The President reiterated that his administration remains focused on governance and national transformation, maintaining that opposition criticism will not distract him from delivering on his mandate.
