Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has donated ₦50 million and six speedboats to the Borno State Government to assist victims of the recent flooding in the region.
In a statement released on Thursday by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, Governor Fintiri made the donation during a visit to Maiduguri, where he presented it to Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum. Fintiri also called for increased support for the affected communities.
Expressing his condolences over the loss of lives and property, the Adamawa Governor urged the federal government to take immediate action to address the flooding crisis.
During the visit, Governor Fintiri, along with Governor Zulum and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, embarked on a boat tour to assess the flood damage and sympathize with displaced persons.
The flooding in Maiduguri was triggered by a broken spillway at the Alau Dam.
Fintiri was joined by Adamawa’s Secretary to the State Government, Awwal Tukur, and other members of the State Executive Council.
