Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has promised swift action to rebuild the Saminala-Marjire road, which was severely damaged by recent flooding.

The disaster destroyed a bridge on the outskirts of Saminaka town, cutting off Marjire and four other agrarian communities from the Lere Local Government Area headquarters.

Speaking through his Chief of Staff, Malam Liman Sani Kila, who led the Flood Impact Assessment Committee to Lere, the governor assured that his administration would prioritize the needs of the affected communities.

Sani reiterated his commitment to developing the rural economy and addressing the challenges faced by citizens in the region.

“We have seen the extent of the damage to this road and the collapsed bridge.

This requires urgent attention, as five communities have been cut off, and their commercial activities, primarily agricultural, have been severely impacted,” Kila said on behalf of the governor.

He further promised that alongside the reconstruction of the road and bridge, relief materials would be provided to the affected communities.

Governor Sani’s team is expected to brief him on the situation, with immediate measures set to follow.

“Governor Uba Sani is deeply committed to promoting the rural economy and addressing the concerns of citizens. Urgent action will be taken,” Kila added.

Lere Local Government Chairman, Hon. Mathew Bulus Gambo, expressed gratitude for the governor’s swift response and the formation of a high-powered committee, describing it as a clear demonstration of Sani’s dedication to resolving the community’s difficulties.
