The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to 10 individuals arrested during the recent #EndBadGovernance protests.
Each defendant was granted bail set at ₦10 million by Justice Emeka Nwite on Wednesday.
The individuals granted bail include Michael Tobiloba Adaramoye (28), Adeyemi Abiodun Abayomi (34), Suleiman Yakubu (28), Comrade Opaluwa Eleojo Simon (50), Buhari Lawal (21), Mosiu Sadiq (28), Bashir Bello (51), Nurudeen Khamis (47), and Abduldalam Zubair (37).
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) charged them with treason, advocating for a military takeover, among other allegations.
As part of the bail conditions, each defendant is required to produce a surety who must be a resident and property owner in Abuja.
The sureties must deposit the property documents with the court and provide a sworn affidavit of means.
Additionally, both the defendants and their sureties are required to surrender their international passports and submit three recent passport-sized photographs.
Justice Nwite also ruled that the defendants are prohibited from participating in any public rallies while their trial is ongoing.
They will remain in custody until they meet the bail conditions.
The trial is scheduled to commence on September 27.
