Grammy Award-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar has been announced as the headliner for the Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show, scheduled for February 9, 2025, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. The NFL confirmed the news following Lamar’s social media announcement, where he expressed excitement for the upcoming performance.
This will mark Lamar’s second appearance in an NFL halftime show, following his performance in Super Bowl LVI in 2022 alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Mary J. Blige. For Super Bowl LIX, creative direction will be handled by Lamar’s pgLang firm, known for its work on his critically acclaimed “Big Steppers” tour.
Lamar, with 17 Grammy Awards and a Pulitzer Prize for his 2017 album DAMN, is widely regarded as one of the most influential artists in modern music. His recent collaborations have continued to dominate the charts, with “Like That” featuring Future and Metro Boomin topping the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks, and his summer hit “Not Like Us” holding the top spot for two weeks.
The announcement follows a year of heightened media attention for Lamar, including his high-profile feud with Drake, which fueled widespread conversation in the music industry and led to his latest chart-topping single.
