Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that forward Désiré Doué will be sidelined for several weeks after sustaining an injury during Wednesday’s Ligue 1 encounter against Lorient.
The 20-year-old was stretchered off in the 60th minute of the 1–1 draw after suffering what the club described as “a muscular lesion in the right thigh.” PSG announced on Thursday that Doué will be “unavailable for a few weeks,” ruling him out of next Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Bayern Munich at the Parc des Princes.
He will also miss upcoming fixtures against Nice and Lyon in Ligue 1, as well as Tottenham’s visit to Paris on November 26. The club said, “A new update will be provided after the international break” in November.
The injury is another blow for Doué, who had only recently returned from a six-week layoff due to a right calf injury sustained while on international duty with France.
Since his return, the young forward had been in sparkling form, scoring twice in PSG’s 7–2 demolition of Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League last week.
His absence is expected to be felt keenly as the French champions navigate a demanding run of fixtures across domestic and European competitions.
