President Bola Ahmed Tinubu returned to Abuja on Tuesday evening after cutting short what was originally planned as a 10-day private visit to Paris and London.
The Presidential Airbus A330 touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at about 6:50 p.m. local time.
Tinubu, who left Nigeria on September 4, had been expected to remain in Europe until later this week. No official reason was given for the decision to curtail the trip.
His return comes just days before the expiration of the six-month emergency rule in oil-rich Rivers State, which lapses on Thursday.
The 73-year-old President has embarked on 15 foreign trips since January 2025, often combining official engagements with brief periods of rest. His last known holiday was in April, when he spent about 14 working days in Paris and London.
