AMVCA-winning director Imoh Umoren is set to captivate audiences once again with Lekki, a gripping six-part noir thriller series that dives deep into love, power, and betrayal in Lagos’ elite circles.

Fresh off the heels of wrapping principal photography, Lekki is scheduled for a September streaming release.

,The series marks Umoren’s return to long-form storytelling following his acclaimed work on Channel 77, and it reunites him with actress Racheal Emem Isaac, after their 2024 collaboration Artifice for AMC.

Set against the vibrant yet shadowy backdrop of Lagos, Lekki follows Awase, a former socialite determined to rebuild her life after falling for Kuye, the heir to the powerful Babatunde political dynasty.

But her quest for redemption is short-lived as ghosts from her past resurface—unleashing a chain of blackmail, mysterious disappearances, and deadly secrets.

As Awase struggles to maintain control, the Babatunde family fights to shield their spotless public image at any cost, leading to a tense and unpredictable power struggle.

The cast is led by Awe Ayobami, a rising Nollywood star known for roles in To Kill a Monkey and Between Worlds, alongside Racheal Emem Isaac, who featured in Inside Life on Netflix.

They are joined by Adeola Awodein, Ejovwoke Obas, Chinaza Ezeani, and Callistus Akunaeziri. The series will also introduce newcomer Zoe Douglas in her first screen role.

Combining noir aesthetics with psychological suspense, Lekki promises a dark, stylish exploration of ambition, identity, and the hidden costs of power—solidifying Umoren’s reputation for bold, genre-bending storytelling.
