The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) has arrested the headmaster of Gaidar Makada Special Primary School in Kumbotso Local Government Area for allegedly selling school assets.
In a statement released on Saturday, Kabir Abba Kabir, spokesperson for the PCACC, revealed that the arrest came after the commission uncovered a scheme involving the illegal sale of essential school property.
Kabir stated, “An investigation revealed that critical items, including metal fixtures, benches, and furniture, had mysteriously vanished from the school.
Suspicion fell on the headmaster, whose activities had already raised concerns during discussions with the School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) and Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) chairmen.”
The thefts were officially reported on August 31, 2024, leading to swift action by the PCACC.
The commission is now focused on recovering the stolen assets and preventing similar incidents that could undermine the integrity of educational institutions.
