The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the results of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), following the successful conclusion of the BECE Award Committee Meeting held at its headquarters in Minna.
According to a statement issued by NECO’s Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani, a total of 179,201 candidates registered for the examination, which covered 12 subjects. The exams were conducted from May 12 to May 23, 2025.
During the meeting, the Chairperson of the Award Committee and Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education, Folake Olatunji David, commended the examination process and expressed satisfaction with the overall conduct that led to the timely release of the results.
“The council has maintained a credible process, and we are pleased with the outcome,” she said.
Also in attendance at the committee meeting were representatives from NECO management and secondary school principals from various parts of the country.
Meanwhile, the Award Committee has approved the resit timetable for the 2025 BECE. The resit for Mathematics and English Studies is scheduled to take place on July 23 and 24, respectively.
