Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes is reportedly set to leave the Santiago Bernabéu this summer, following reduced playing opportunities under newly appointed manager Xabi Alonso.
According to a report from AS on Friday, via Sportal, the Brazilian international has made the decision to part ways with the club after the FIFA Club World Cup, where he started only one match. The 24-year-old’s lack of minutes has fueled growing uncertainty about his future in Madrid.
Rodrygo is expected to hold talks with Alonso at the end of July to determine the next steps in his career. For now, however, the player is focused on finishing the season strongly and has reportedly declined direct contact with potential suitors, including Arsenal.
The Premier League side is believed to be the frontrunner for the winger’s signature, with a possible transfer fee estimated at €90 million.
Should the move materialize, it would mark a significant addition to Arsenal’s attacking options as they aim to challenge for silverware next season.
Despite his limited role under Alonso, Rodrygo featured in 30 La Liga games last season, contributing six goals and five assists. He remains a key figure for the 15-time European champions, who are set to face Borussia Dortmund in the quarterfinals of a pre-season tournament in the United States on Saturday.
