President Bola Tinubu has condemned the deadly suicide bombing that rocked Konduga, Borno State on Friday night, describing the attack as a tragic act of terror that must be swiftly addressed.

The attack, carried out by a female suicide bomber at a busy food joint, claimed the lives of at least 24 people and left many others injured. The assailant detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) in a densely populated area, targeting unsuspecting civilians during the evening hours.

In a statement issued by the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu expressed deep sorrow over the incident and extended condolences to the government and people of Borno State.

He directed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to provide immediate assistance to the survivors and affected families.

The President also charged the nation’s security agencies to intensify their operations against remnants of Boko Haram and other terrorist groups who continue to exploit soft targets in the region. He emphasized the need for a coordinated and sustained offensive to prevent further loss of lives.

In a related development, President Tinubu also expressed sympathy over a separate tragedy in Kano, where an explosion at a scrap metal factory on Saturday killed five individuals and injured ten others.

He called for a comprehensive investigation into the cause of the blast and urged authorities to strengthen workplace safety protocols across the country.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to national security and justice, President Tinubu assured Nigerians that those responsible for acts of violence will be brought to justice, stressing that such attacks will not deter the government’s resolve to defeat terrorism.
