Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) North Central Forum (NCF) have dismissed the endorsement of Abdullahi Ganduje by Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule. The forum’s chairman, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, criticized Sule’s recent visit to the party secretariat in Abuja, calling it a move driven by personal interest rather than the collective interest of the North Central region or the party.
Zazzaga emphasized that the endorsement came at a time when North Central stakeholders were advocating for the return of the national chairmanship position to their region following Abdullahi Adamu’s resignation. He questioned the legitimacy of Ganduje’s leadership in upcoming elections, including those in Edo and Ondo States.
Additionally, Mohammed Etsu, a former APC national chairmanship aspirant, reiterated that the North Central zone remains steadfast in its demand for the chairmanship position. Etsu condemned Sule’s support for Ganduje as a betrayal of the zoning arrangement and an act of self-sabotage. He urged President Bola Tinubu to address the situation to prevent potential crisis and maintain the party’s goodwill in the region.
