North Central stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have rejected a vote of confidence in embattled national chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, recently endorsed by Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule.
On Friday, Sule led a delegation to the APC national headquarters, affirming the region’s support for Ganduje. However, Mohammed Saidu-Etsu, a former APC chairmanship aspirant and co-convener of the concerned stakeholders, countered this endorsement. He emphasized that Sule’s views do not represent the collective stance of the North Central zone.
Saidu-Etsu criticized Sule for undermining the zoning arrangements of the last elective convention, which designated the national chairmanship to North Central. He accused Sule and Ganduje of sabotaging the region’s political interests and called on President Bola Tinubu to address the issue to prevent further discord within the party.
Saidu-Etsu also warned Ganduje against being influenced by endorsements that defy the established zoning agreements and urged President Tinubu to ensure justice and stability by returning the national chairmanship position to the North Central zone.
