The newly appointed Commissioner of Police for Yobe State, CP Emmanuel Ado, emphasized his commitment to addressing the state’s security challenges.

CP Ado assumed office on Thursday, March 27, at the State Police Headquarters in Damaturu.

Upon his arrival, CP Ado was given a guard of honor and conducted a formal inspection as part of the ceremonial proceedings.

Ado, a native of Niger State, is among the 38 Commissioners of Police recently deployed across various state commands and police formations nationwide.

In his brief address, he emphasized his commitment to addressing the state’s security challenges while focusing on the welfare of police personnel to improve morale.

“We will remain focused, building on the achievements of my predecessor,” Ado stated.

He also acknowledged the leadership of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun, highlighting the IGP’s emphasis on community policing, transparency, and accountability.

In alignment with the IGP’s vision, Ado stressed that his administration would prioritize building trust with local communities, enhancing community policing initiatives, and ensuring that officers remain approachable, responsive, and dedicated to upholding human rights.

Furthermore, the new Commissioner of Police pledged to ramp up efforts to combat crime and insecurity through intelligence-led policing and increased collaboration with other security agencies.

“As your Commissioner of Police, I will lead by example, upholding the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and respect for human rights,” he assured.

Ado concluded his address by urging the Yobe State Police personnel to unite with him in this mission, stating, “Together, we can make a positive impact and create a brighter future for our communities.”
