Operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command, arrested two individuals in connection with the death of 25-year-old motorcyclist, Dauda Manu.

The police disclosed the arrests through a statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, on Monday.

Wakil explained, “On March 5, 2025, a report was received at the Darazo Divisional Police Headquarters regarding the discovery of a motionless body along Dosho Village, near Darazo.

The body had multiple injuries.”

Following the report, a team of detectives, led by the Divisional Police Officer, visited the scene and transported the body to the General Hospital Darazo, where a medical doctor confirmed the victim’s death.

According to the PPRO, Dauda Manu had been seen riding his motorcycle (a Boxer model) on March 4, 2025, with two unknown men on board prior to the discovery of his body.

As the investigation progressed, the police made a breakthrough when, on Thursday, March 20, 2025, they arrested one Yau Buba, a 25-year-old man from Minchika Village in Darazo LGA, in Gombe State.

Buba was found in possession of Manu’s motorcycle.

Wakil further revealed that during questioning, Buba admitted to purchasing the motorcycle for N250,000 from one Buba Muhammadu, who was subsequently arrested on March 21, 2025.

The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation, and the suspects are expected to be charged in court.
