The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has approved the resumption of Max Air’s domestic flight operations, nearly three months after suspending the airline due to a series of operational incidents.
The decision followed a successful economic and safety audit conducted by the NCAA.
In a statement issued on Monday, NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, confirmed the development, stating: “The Safety audit was conducted from February 26 to 28, 2025, and the results confirmed that Max Air’s capacity can sustain safe flight operations.”
The NCAA emphasized that it will maintain strict oversight of the airline through an enhanced surveillance program to ensure continued compliance with regulatory standards.
Reassuring the public of its commitment to aviation safety, the authority reiterated its dedication to upholding the highest operational standards across all airlines.
Max Air’s return to domestic operations is expected to bring relief to passengers affected by the prolonged suspension.
